Okay, so this tactic isn't exactly new, but going forward, it's more important than ever. So, what is it?

BRANDING!

Google loves brands. You can see it no matter what query you search for. If you want to build something stable and evergreen, you MUST build a brand.

Ahrefs made 89 easy AI tools and ended up with 1 million visitors to their site from this strategy.

How realistic is this strategy for niche site builders?

It depends on your current authority. Ahrefs was able to get a million visitors because they’re already a huge brand, leveraging their backlink profile.

However, YOU DON’T NEED 1 million visitors; you only need 100, 1,000, 10,000, etc., to get the ball rolling for your site.

If you’re a beginner, you can use this strategy to get your first 100 visitors, and then scale up. If you’re already established, you can use it to get 1,000 or 10,000, and so on.

Remember, anytime you see a strategy in the wild, you have to adapt it to your situation, not just follow it blindly.

Building a niche marketing empire is MUCH easier if you have initial capital to invest. But how do you get some?

Put your skills to work on UpWork. Take your earnings and invest them into your niche marketing.

When I first started, I was a freelance graphic designer and reinvested every dollar I made into my niche sites. It helped speed up the path to success a lot.

🤔 How much do you need to niche down to become a topical authority?

The answer depends on your goals and the approach you take.

There are different strategies for starting a niche site. You can choose to make a broad authority site or build a portfolio of smaller, micro-niche sites.

Before you decide, analyze the type of person you are.

Can you handle multiple projects at once, or do you NEED to focus on one project?

Answer that, and you'll have your choice made for you.

From a Google POV, both strategies CAN and DO work. I've seen micro-niche sites dominate the SERPs for the small number of keywords they target, and I've seen larger, broader sites dominate hundreds of thousands of keywords.

For COMPLETE BEGINNERS, I'd recommend starting with a very niched-down site and targeting about 50-100 keywords. The experience you gain from doing this will help you build larger sites.
